Mental health challenges end lives every day — especially for young people. We’re not just talking about awareness.

• cycles can be broken

Every mile we ride helps fund the programs that allow students to feel seen, supported, and alive.

The Founders Behind The Proof Ride

Mark W. Gillette Jr.
Co-Founder, Brake The Psychol

Mark “Fame” Gillette is a Rahway, New Jersey native, artist, and creative producer who has transitioned his focus toward community outreach, philanthropy, and youth mentorship. His work with the nonprofit organization Between The Lines, where he serves as Director of Music, helped inspire a deeper mission to give back and create meaningful impact. That journey led him to co-found Brake The Psychol, a movement dedicated to breaking generational cycles and promoting mental resilience through action. Through initiatives like The Proof Ride, Mark is helping introduce the world to Mental Health in Motion.

Kerby Louisville
Co-Founder, Brake The Psychol

Kerby Louisville is a Linden, New Jersey native and endurance athlete driven by a mission to break generational cycles and inspire forward movement. As co-creator of Brake The Psychol, Kerby brings discipline, resilience, and leadership to the movement’s physical challenges and storytelling. His commitment to pushing beyond limits fuels the mission behind The Proof Ride, demonstrating that real change begins with one decision to move forward.

We're breaking mental barries through endurance, discipline, and storytelling.

Active Minds is the largest nonprofit in the United States mobilizing youth and young adults to transform mental health norms across society. For more than 20 years, our advocacy and programs have been equipping, connecting, and amplifying the collective and diverse voices of youth and young adults, building a movement of lasting champions who are improving mental health norms for all.

Brake The Psychol was co-founded by two fathers and purpose-driven leaders committed to breaking generational barriers and redefining what mental resilience looks like in real time. What began as honest conversations about legacy, discipline, and the patterns they refused to pass down to their children has grown into a platform that transforms personal growth into public impact through endurance challenges, storytelling, and community engagement.
